"Comprehensive budgeting and sound financial management are cornerstones of an effective TB programme. Knowledge how to develop, manage and update budgets is essential. To help health care managers meet these challenges, The Union will host a special, two-week course on Budget Planning and Project Management for TB Control on 1–13 September 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The application deadline is 30 June 2009.

During the course participants will learn to:
• Understand budget spreadsheets
• Comprehend budget costs and allocations
• Create thorough financial reports
• Effectively forecast budgets
• Prepare and administer budgets in order to develop contingency plans
• Easily manage and analyze cash flow
• Confidently use the WHO budgeting tool

In addition to other valuable skills presented in the course, participants will incorporate what they learn into action plans that are specifically tailored to their organisation’s needs. Following the course, participants will also have access to ongoing educational resources that will help facilitate those action plans in their daily routine. "
